“The Dr. Bernard LaFayette, Jr. International Nonviolence and Peace Institute (LaFayette Institute) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to collecting, preserving, and showcasing the extensive history and legacy of Dr. Bernard LaFayette, Jr.’s more than 60-year career in nonviolence education and training. Beginning with his early collaboration with David Jehnsen in the development and codification of kingian Nonviolence, Dr. LaFayette’s work has been deeply rooted in the philosophy and strategic framework advanced by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during the Civil Rights Movement in the United States. The Institute Further Serves as a center for study, research, and education in the Tampa, Florida area—Dr. LaFayette’s birthplace—providing scholars, students,and practitioners with access to resources, training, and historical materials that advance the principles and practice of nonviolence and peacebuilding worldwide ”
